Foundational Stage
Pre-primary to Grade 2

The Foundational Stage of education is the first and most crucial phase of a child’s learning journey. It emphasizes play-based, activity-based, and discovery learning, where children learn through joyful experiences such as games, stories, rhymes, songs, art, and hands-on activities rather than rote memorization. The focus is on developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills through the NIPUN Bharat Mission, ensuring that every child attains basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities by the end of Grade 3. Learning is integrated and holistic, promoting not just cognitive development but also emotional, social, and physical growth. The classroom environment is warm, inclusive, and child-friendly, with the use of the mother tongue or local language to make learning more relatable and effective. Teachers act as facilitators, guiding children to explore, question, and discover new ideas through real-life experiences. Overall, the Foundational Stage lays a strong base for lifelong learning by nurturing curiosity, creativity, and essential skills in young students.
